Claxby Cottage Farm Stay is a large 3 bedroom farm cottage fully furnished to a high standard, situated in our large tree studded garden overlooking paddocks. Enjoy the countryside yet only 30 minutes from Christchurch.

Claxby Cottage Farm Stay is a great relaxing base after a long flight to enjoy the many features the Canterbury Plains has to offer. Ideal base for the business traveller needing more space than a motel room, or someone on transfer looking for short term accommodation for a family.

We farm a large flat land, irrigated sheep, beef, deer and cropping farm and guests are invited to request a tour of the farm. Enjoy the tranquil rural setting of the Cottage. Visit rural towns & villages and indulge in local food & wine. Explore the Canterbury Region while basing yourself at the Cottage.

Arrangements can be made for guests to be met at Christchurch Airport, Rangiora Train Station or a local bus depot.

"Quiet area. Lovely drives to Waimakariri Gorge and onto Darfield to the quaint railway station to board the Tranzalpine Scenic train to Greymouth. Countryside around is beautiful. Took trips to Rangiora or into Christchurch and onto Lyttelton. To save us from finding parking in the city we parked at Belfast and used the bus. Seeing the farm in action was fantastic.
